Throughout 2024 I’ve been keeping you up to date about Golden Code’s awesome looking Danmaku shooter of ‘MEGA MILV’. A game that doesn’t just feature decent graphics, but more bullets and lasers than you can handle all running on a stock A1200 or above. As in the words of the creator “Real bullet hell on a stock Amiga 1200! 304 x 256 PAL 50 Hz, 2p simultan mode, hundreds of bullets!” Well if you’re interested in any developments of this upcoming Amiga game, then provided below is latest footage from a real Amiga which was also shown at the recent Amiga 40 event.
When the game is officially released, I’ll make sure to do a more in-depth write up. But for now here’s everything the developer has said in relation to the video posted above. “I’m really happy that it runs rock-stable on stock machines, not a single crash during the whole event. I only had to reboot to show some more skeptical visitors that the machines were indeed unexpanded. I’d say it also plays fine and I guess we’ve reached “feature stop”, so it’s now all about coming up with 4 more levels and maybe some optimizations here and there (not really necessary as it practically always runs at 50 fps even in 2p mode, but anyway, always good to have reserves for more bullets 😉 ).
